Thanks very much! Yes we were fortunate that at least the wet part was not the steepest part, and that the steepest parts of the hike weren't wet. Otherwise it could have gotten really gnarly. So cool you've done some of those beautiful Norway hikes -- that's very high on our list of places we want to go! ❤️

Totally agree with you -- it is just stunning! Good to know that others have to race the afternoon thunderstorms too. Every time we do a big CO hike it seems like we're running just ahead of a storm! ❤️

Oh ya I can totally see how this would be one would be really challenging with a fear of heights! We were up there toward the end of May and beginning of June, and the waterfalls were still rocking! ❤️

@@LiveHardxLoveHard Yeah, there's definitely less water now, almost a month later. I hike Iron to Baldy regularly, as you know, but I don't even get that scared on Iron to Baldy.

@@YashaYakhnisPiano Ya that makes sense, because you have the best routes over those notches totally wired in. Gunsight notch can be scary AF if you take the wrong way around like we did, but I'm sure you just go straight over the optimal way and keep it class 3!

@@LiveHardxLoveHard That was actually the second notch where you went around the left side instead of the right. Gunsight Notch is the third notch. But yeah, Gunsight Notch is a little bit scary due to exposure even if you do go the best way. There are several spots along that ridge that are somewhat scary. Even some of the class 2 spots within the first mile after Iron Mt summit have crazy exposure. Last time I was there, November 2023, I felt like the class 2 spots with crazy exposure got worse due to erosion.

Oh my gosh Paul, that final 400 was so steep! But luckily we had excellent conditions, and it will definitely go down as one of our most memorable summits! ❤️

Yes we will likely do a Europe trip in shoulder season this year -- usually we try to get over there for at least a month during the climbing season. If not this fall, then most definitely next summer! ❤️

Waterfall season has been absolutely amazing so far. We have one more waterfall trip planned before we move on to mountain lakes and big summits in the Sierra and the Rockies! ❤️

My service finally returned about 15 minutes ago, so here is my original comment (copied and pasted): Wow! When I read what you wrote, I had quite a lot of exciting thoughts. Theoretically, you could even come by and see me at work if you wanted to. I have an extremely public job, and literally see what seems like thousands of different people on a regular basis. I have lots of conversations all the time with people I don't know from anywhere else. Of course where I live is pretty flat and certainly not mountainous, yet we also have quite an extensive trail system here. It certainly doesn't have the views you've been showing, but for exercising it's great. I personally am exercising indoors almost exclusively these days due to decades of exposure to the intense sunlight on my skin that has since resulted many years ago in problems with further exposure. If I go outside into the sun, I have to really "gear up" with a hat, bandannas, a long-sleeve shirt, light gloves, and so on.... We have a lot to do for people visiting in the area, and if you're interested, we could communicate some more. In any case, a cross-country trip would be nice! By the way, have you thought about walking across America? I'm not sure how safe that would be in reality. You both are really fun to watch in your videos!

Yes please! We're going to meet on Saturday, 6:30 am, at the Mt. Baldy trailhead just above Manker campground. We'll go up the Ski Hut trail and down the Devil's backbone trail. Should be a beautiful hike, and we'll take it at a very casual pace, just enjoying the conversation and scenery. Would love to see you there! ❤️

That's the really exciting part -- we don't know yet! Eventually the plan is to settle in the Sierra, most likely Bishop or Mammoth, but before that we're going to wander nomadiclly from adventure to adventure, trying some different places on for size. It will be epic! ❤️

That's a great story! What a tough hike for 12 year olds -- you didn't do badly to get even half way with a heavy pack. We've done all of the 6 pack, and now Adam has a goal later this year to do Baldy, Gorgonio, and San Jacinto all in a single day. It's insane, and I will not be doing that. I will drive and also accompany him up the last one to make sure he doesn't pass out! ❤️

We're actually thinking about learning to surf this year! Now that Adam is taking early retirement he wants to spend a month in Costa Rica taking surf lessons this winter, and I can't let him learn without me! ❤️ --E

Haha I think we'll be up in Washington in August trying to climb Rainier! But stoked that you'll be in SoCal doing some of these gorgeous climbs, and hopefully you'll make it up to the Sierra as well! ❤️

Stephen it looks like we're going to do it Saturday, but if there's enough interest maybe we'll do another hike in September as well! And if you are able to come on Saturday don't worry about not being in shape -- we're going to take it slow and easy and just have fun chatting, and even stop for a beer and/or burger on the way down! ❤️
